Miss Butterfield
Welcome to Foundation Stage 2
Hello and welcome to Zebra Class. My name is Miss Butterfield and I will be your class teacher. We are supported in class by two wonderful teaching assistants Miss Preston and Mrs Plumridge. Miss Brownson our EYFS lead and SENCO will cover in zebra class all day on a Thursday.
Essential Information
We ask that children come to school everyday with weather appropriate clothing as we spend as much time outdoors as possible. We will also be frequently visiting our woodland area but mostly for our "Forest School Fridays". Please send your child to school with a pair of wellies to change into, you can leave them in a bag on their peg or on our welly rack outside our classroom. If possible, you could also send your child to school with wetproof/mudproof overalls during the colder months.
Please send your child to school with a water bottle everyday. We have snack time everyday where we offer a variety of fruit and vegetables to everyone in class. Children are more than welcome to bring their own snack from home but it must be fruit or vegetables. We are a nut free school, please do not send nuts or snacks containing nuts for the safety of our children.
Children need to come to school with their bookbag and planner everyday. Children will now be bringing home their own reading book, please sign their planner to say when they have read at home. We have a class reading race where each child has their own reading chart, they will receive a sticker on their chart once they have read three times in a week. Once their chart is filled, they will receive a prize!
PE will be on a Thursday so we ask that children come to school in their PE kit on this day. Your child's PE kit should be a plain white t-shirt, black/navy leggings or joggers and a plan navy/black hoodie or sweatshirt. Children are welcome to wear shorts during the warmer weather.
Autumn 1 in Zebra Class
This half term we will be spending time getting to know each child and giving them time to settle in and explore their new environment. Our topic will be titled "All About Me" which is the perfect opportunity for us to get to know all about your child, their families and likes and dislikes. It also allows us to focus on some wonderful learning opportunities such as our bodies, staying healthy and how we are all unique!
Throughout the year we will be basing our learning on so much more than just a topic. Our learning will continuously be enhanced by what is happening in the world around us such as important events, celebrations and the seasons. This time of year in school is one of our favourites as Autumn provides us with so many natural items to enhance our learning.
