FS2 / YR1 Crocodile
Welcome to Crocodile Class !
We are very lucky to have 29 fantastic children in our class this year. There will be some amazing staff supporting us to learn, grow and thrive throughout our time as Crocodiles - Mrs Gray will teach the children on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and Miss Brownson will teach them on a Thursday and Friday. Our wonderful teaching assistants - Miss Burn and Mrs Peace will be in class every day to support the children's learning. Our provision is highly inspiring and provides children with rich learning opportunities and experiences linked to a main theme. Each half term we will be sending a topic web home with details about what the children are going to be learning and a home learning web which will provide children with extended learning opportunities.
This term's Topic Learning will be all about 'All about us.' Children will be learning lots of new and exciting information about their bodies and how to stay healthy. We will also be talking about our likes, dislikes and what makes us special. We will be exploring our local area to find out more about where we live and will be working on self-portraits in our artwork. We will also be celebrating Harvest Festival and learning all about Autumn. We have some wonderful books to share that will support our learning journey such as 'Our class is a family' 'Zog and the flying doctors' and 'We're going on a bear hunt'.
This half term we will begin to develop our herb garden and will also be growing rhubarb. We plan to make Harvest Soup and Homemade bread too.
PE will be every Friday. Please make sure your child comes to school dressed in their full PE Kit.
Keeping updated
Our staff strongly believe that it is important for parents to contribute to their child's learning and development. Follow us on Twitter@SunnyfieldsEYFS for regular updates throughout the day. We also use an app called 'Evidence Me' which allows you to share amazing moments that you have at home with us. We really do enjoy seeing what the children get up too and it is a vital part of your child's journey here in class.
Any questions, please come and see us.
