''Respect, challenge, enquiring mind and confident''

Friends of Sunnyfields

Friends of Sunnyfields Parent Teacher Association

Sunnyfields Primary School Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) who are known as Friends of Sunnyfields are an essential and active part of the school community. Any parent/grandparent or carer can be a member and we invite the entire community to help support the school.

Some of our regular local supporters are Custom PVC Banner Printing and Play Pit.

Everyone can be important without even knowing as what they have to offer doesn’t just have to be their time, it could be contacts, knowledge, supplies, ideas or just support and enthusiasm. We don’t ask people to commit long term or even to attend every event or meeting, but it is a fun way to meet other likeminded people and get involved in raising funds for the school.

Our aim is to keep this page up to date so that everyone can see any events and meetings that Friends of Sunnyfields are involved in or running.

We will also keep you updated with what monies raised have helped to fund in and around school.

Find our group on Facebook – Friends of Sunnyfields Doncaster, Twitter - @FriendsofSunny3 or keep an eye out around school for posters full of information.

If you can help or would like more information then please either email sarah.wortley@sunnyfields.doncaster.sch.uk call in at the school office or find one of us in the playground. We look forward to hearing from you!

Your Chair

My name is Sarah Wortley and I am the Chair of Friends of Sunnyfields and I have a daughter called April, who is currently in Year 3. My work background is Admin/HR and Accounts and I currently work part time for a local family run firm.

I started as a volunteer for FOS but have been in the role of Chair since December 2018 and have loved every minute of it. I currently have a great team of parents, grandparents and carers who have helped me plan, organise and run events such as the Christmas Fayre, Easter & Halloween Discos and the Summer Fayre. We also run tuck shops at Cross Country Competitions, Military Day, Sports Day and many more school events.

I have a great relationship with the staff at Sunnyfields and we work together to provide additional equipment, facilities and initiatives that enhance the school and the children’s education.

If you see me in the playground or around school, please come and say hello!

Your Treasurer

Hi, my name is Ali and I have been the Treasurer for Friends of Sunnyfields for the last 2 years. I have two children at Sunnyfields - Alice who is in Panther class and Rafe who is in Puma class. It is my job to manage the finances for FOS as well as helping organise and run our events. I am currently a stay at home mum but in a previous life I worked for Doncaster Council for 19 years.

Please feel free to come and chat to me about how you can get involved with Friends of Sunnyfields - I’d love to talk to you.

Members

Hi, I am Becci Calvert, you may know me already as I work as a Teaching Assistant in Zebra Class. I have been a part of Friends of Sunnyfields for around 8 years. I have helped at many events including Christmas and Summer Fayres, Sports Days, Halloween and Easter Discos.

I was also Chair of FOS for a while which gave me more confidence and the chance to meet new people and friends. We are a friendly team and welcome new ideas on ways we can raise money for our school.

My name is Vicky Pugh and I am a volunteer of Friends of Sunnyfields. I have a 6 year old boy who is currently in Year 1. I have been involved with Sunnyfields as a volunteer in the classroom since 2016 when my son started in nursery. I have been active as a Friend of Sunnyfields since 2017.

For the past 3 years I have been working as a civil servant.

It’s a rewarding experience being part of the FOS team, who all share a passion to raise funds to support the education and social development of the children at Sunnyfields Primary School.
