Pupil Premium Allocation and Its Impact on Attainment of Pupils at Sunnyfields Primary School

The Government believes that the Pupil Premium, which is additional to main school funding, is the best way to address the current underlying inequalities between children eligible for free school meals and their peers, by ensuring that funding to tackle disadvantage reaches the pupils who need it most. School receives funding of £1515 per eligible pupil.

Local Authorities are responsible for Looked After Children in care and will make payments to schools and academies where an eligible looked after child is on roll. The amount allocated to school is £2630 per child for Looked After Children and Previously Looked After Children.  

  
Children whose parents are currently serving in the armed forces will receive £350 per child. This service premium is designed to address the emotional and social well-being of these pupils.  

School, also, receives Early Years Pupil Premium for every disadvantaged 3 and 4 year old child. This funding is designed to narrow the attainment gap between young children from low-income families and their peers, setting them on a path to a more successful future. Schools are given £570 per eligible child per year.

It is for schools Leadership team and governors to decide how the Pupil Premium is spent. At Sunnyfields Primary School we implement a range of strategies and interventions which can improve the progress and attainment of pupils and remove any potential barriers to inequalities.
