Daffodils - Year 4 and Year 5

Welcome to Daffodils!

Daffodils is a year 4 and 5 split class led by myself (Mrs Gug) and Mrs Brown. Mrs Atkinson will also be teaching on Monday mornings and Tuesday afternoons. You can find our class in the 2 story block by the KS2 playground. In Daffodils, we are becoming more independent and responsible as we continue our KS2 journey. In order for children to grow in independence, achieve their goals and enjoy their learning experiences, we set high expectations and reward positive behaviour with Dojo points and special mentions. During Year 4 and 5 we will be learning about many exciting topic areas. For more information, please see our yearly curriculum overview.

Homework

Homework will be set on Fridays and is expected to be completed by the following Thursday. Maths Homework is set using MyMaths and weekly spellings will be sent home. Homework will link to the maths learning throughout the week and is important to help children become more responsible and prepare them for secondary school. Weekly spellings' homework will also be sent home, and children are encouraged to use Times Tables Rock Stars.

PE Days

Our PE days will be Tuesdays and Fridays. Please send your child to school wearing their PE kit on these days. Year 5 children will be swimming on Tuesdays in the Autumn Term. More information on this will follow.
