Miss C Williams
We are a group of Year 3 children with Miss Williams as our class teacher, and Mrs Peace as our teaching assistant. We are so excited for an amazing year full of fun and new learning.
Moving into KS2 is an exciting step for our class, as children take on more responsibility for their own learning, both inside and outside of school. During Year 3 we will be learning about so many exciting topics with links to art, history, geography, science and more! We will also be concentrating on learning times tables ready for Year 4. As well as learning how to spell and read Year 3 common exception words.
We have a whole school Mention Assembly every Friday, if your child has been chosen for a mention that week you will be notified via the office.

We ask that you sign their planners to let us know if they have finished their book or what page they have read up to. We are keen to develop fluency, so we like to encourage children to re-read their books before changing them. We also ask that children read at least three times a week at home. All children will have access to time to read for pleasure throughout the week, with our classroom having lots of interesting and fun books to choose from.
Maths and spelling homework will be sent home weekly on paper, with tasks also being set online on ‘my maths’ and ‘times table rock stars’ to further embed their learning at school. We encourage all children to complete their home learning, to develop their skills in lessons, as well as develop their times table fluency. We will have spelling and times table tests weekly.
I will post on class dojo any updates for poppies class so please make sure you are connected on this platform. As always, any questions please contact the class teacher on here.
If your child has milk, they will have this at playtime. We ask all children to bring a water bottle containing water please, and to bring a fruit snack from home if they wish.
We value outdoor learning in all weather, so it is important you child comes to school prepared. Please send them in with a raincoat and wellies for wet days, a warm coat as the weather gets cold, and sun hats and sun cream in warmer months.
Our PE days will be Wednesday and Thursday. Please send your children to school wearing their PE kits on these days. Our PE topics this term are dance (haka) and rounders.
